I received some feedback from a hiker wondering why the trails near Juniper Lane were not being mowed. These trails are in Westborough and are under Mass Wildlife management. I contacted the district supervisor for the area about the mowing and was informed that the trails will be mowed sometime after July 15th. The reason these trails are not mowed sooner is to allow ample time for grass and shrub-nesting bird species to fledge their young.

There are several miles of paths through this area that are currently in great shape even without the mowing. Hikers, runners, etc. can enter the area either from Juniper Lane or off Rt. 135 near the Northborough/Westborough town line and take the paths all the way over to Little Chauncy Pond on Lyman St. where there are more trails connecting over to the Cedar Hill area.
